Biography:  I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with children and their families in an atmosphere that is centered in Christ. Mrs. Linda Silva

Years teaching: 9 years in education at St. Paul.

Biography:  My career in education began as an educational assistant where I discovered that teaching was my true calling. I enjoy modeling a life-long love of learning for my students and teaching them to become thinkers, problem solvers, and good friends. My favorite thing about St. Paul Parish School is the supportive community, which includes parents who entrust me with their children every day.

Welcome to Third Grade!

Third graders at St. Paul Parish School are a community of learners who live our faith, work hard, play, and celebrate our love of learning. We work together to solve problems in a respectful manner and help each other.

The emphasis of third grade religion is how we learn to live like Jesus and work through His Church. Our goal in Language Arts is to develop a love of reading and the foundational skills to be successful writers. The focus of third grade math is to develop an understanding in multiplication and division, fractions, and two-dimensional geometry. The use of a variety of hands-on manipulatives and games helps students deepen their understanding of these basic mathematical concepts. The Social Studies curriculum centers on the concept of living and working together in communities. A highlight of our study of animal life in science is the ZooSnooze, an overnight trip to the Oregon Zoo in the spring!
