Mrs. Carol White
Teacher

Years teaching: 29 years in education;
12 years at St. Paul.

Biography: Carol White holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Oregon. She holds National Certification through Music Teachers National Association. Currently, she has an active home studio in addition to teaching piano in the St. Paul School Piano Program. She is a member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association and is a Certified Adjudicator for the OMTA Syllabus program. She recently retired from St. Paul Parish Church after 23 years as Pastoral Musician and Choir Director. Currently, she volunteers in the Music Ministry at Sacred Heart Hospital performing weekly at the RiverBend Hospital.

Mrs. Sarah Burch
Teacher

Years teaching: 16 years in education;
3rd year at St. Paul.

Biography: Mrs. Sarah Burch has been teaching piano for 16 years to students from preschool through retirement in both private and group settings. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from University of Portland and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Oregon. She has served as a graduate teaching fellow at the U of O, and on the faculty of O’Hara Catholic School and Harmony Roadhouse studios. She currently maintains a private piano studio in West Eugene, Emerald Piano Studio, and teaches pre-primary music and piano at St. Paul. She also directs the 10:30 mass choir at St. Paul Parish.

PIANO PROGRAM

The study of music offers an opportunity for enjoyment and enrichment in our lives now and for years to come. St. Paul School offers piano lessons to students during the school day, before school and after school. The development of strong musicianship and a lifelong love of music is paramount in our program; piano coursework consists of music theory, sight reading, and a wide variety of repertoire. We ask for parent support and supervision of home practice. The classroom doors are always open to parents and grandparent to attend lessons to assist their child with the home practice.

Students receive weekly private or partner lessons and group performance classes during the school year and participate in three Recitals (Christmas, mid-March and Year End). In addition, students may participate in additional piano festivals, recitals and syllabus sponsored by the Oregon Music Teachers Association. Tuition for the current year is $750 per year (10 monthly payments of $75); additionally, a $30 book deposit is payable in September.
