St. Paul Parish School
Foundation Mission Statement
The St. Paul Parish School
Foundation was founded in 1979 and is organized as a non-profit
corporation under section 501(c) (3). The Foundation is
governed by 15 volunteer directors, each serving three year terms.
In keeping with its mission, the Foundation actively encourages
community awareness of St. Paul's education programs and raises funds
for the long-term support of the school. These funds are
maintained as an endowment so they will continue to provide tuition
assistance, capital improvements and program support well into the
future. The Foundation's major fundraisers are: The Annual
Appeal and the
Marian Garden.
The Foundation's work is made possible by the
generous support of St. Paul families and friends. Please consider
supporting the vital mission of Catholic Christian education for the
next generation by making a gift to the St. Paul School Foundation.
The Marian Garden

As the Church culminates its recognition of the
"Year
of the Rosary," it is fitting that the St. Paul School
Foundation is creating a "Living Rosary," an
inspirational garden located on the east side of the
school. Honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, the
Marian Garden is scheduled for completion and
dedication in Spring 2004 and will portray the
Rosary in a beautiful, natural environment of living
plants and trees as well as sacred structures
and monuments.
This inspirational project is well on its way to completion thanks
to the commitment and generosity of many, yet important opportunities
still exist. Please make a gift to St. Paul Parish School
Foundation.

St. Paul Parish
A vibrant and growing
community of faith that strives
to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to life in Eugene
and Springfield, Oregon. |
|
The
parish expresses its faith not only through the
celebration of the Mass, but also through its many educational
programs, ministries, services, events and activities. The St.
Paul faith community began as a mission of St. Mary's parish in
the 1950's. Even before it was formally made a parish in 1957,
St. Paul took upon itself the mission of educating its parish
and neighborhood children. Since then the parish has
supported and nourished what is now a thriving school community.

St.
Paul Parish School
Providing a
Catholic Christian education,
fostering spiritual growth and academic
excellence in a safe, nurturing environment
St. Paul Parish
School is rich in history, opening to its first students
in 1956. The stated goal, which holds true today, was
to foster a community of teachers, students and parents,
working together to provide a value-centered education
in an atmosphere guided by the teachings of Jesus
Christ. As a parish school, we first serve the children
and parents of St. Paul Parish yet, from the beginning,
our ministry has reached out to many other Catholic
parishes as well as to members of other faiths. St. Paul
enrollment at maximum capacity, is 264 students in
grades K-8.
In recognition of
service as an integral part of spiritual life, St. Paul
students take part in an extraordinary number of
community service projects. here's just sampling:
-
Project
Starfish - A Lenten project during which
students and staff organize events that raised more
than $11,000 in 2002, to provide permanent housing
and support to five local homeless families
-
Christmas
Hospitality - A time when the school gym
literally becomes "home" to several homeless
families over the holiday season.
-
Famine
Project - St. Paul 8th graders join together in
fast to raise funds for world hunger relief.
"What good is it for someone
to say he has faith if his actions do not prove it?
Can faith save him? If a
brother or sister has nothing to wear and no food
for the day, and you say to them, "Good-bye and good
luck. . . keep warm and well fed,' but do not meet
their bodily needs, what good is that? So it is
with faith: If it is alone and includes no actions,
then it is dead."
