Pre-School Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Your children are doing a wonderful job waiting for Jesus.  We are learning about the Advent wreath and season.  Every day we light the Advent wreath and pray.  The children are also Christmas candles burning bright with the love they have for Jesus!  We see Christ’s light glowing in them everyday!

To celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8th we will be attending Mass at 9:00 a.m. and the children will be making a white paper chain to decorate our statue of Mary in the classroom.  On Mary’s Feast day we celebrate and honor the holiness and innocence of Mary.  We celebrate that Mary said, “Yes” to God’s plan.

We will be in the school Christmas program December 18th, at 7:00 p.m., at the Shedd, which is downtown on 8th and High Street.  It is a beautiful venue, which will hold all of St. Paul’s families and friends comfortably.  The Christmas lights downtown will be beautiful to see!  Please have the children wear their nice dressy clothing for the program.

IMPORTANT:  Thursday, December 18th the Preschool class and the Pre-Kindergarten classes need to be dropped off downtown at the Shedd at 8:30 a.m. and picked up at 10:00 a.m at the Shedd. We will practice with the rest of the school and watch the Middle School play.   You do not need to bring a backpack or a snack, as you will be picking your child up at 10:00.  You will need to come into the Shedd to sign your child out.

On the night of the Christmas program, the Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten class will be singing two songs together.  Drop off time the night of the program will be 6:30.  We will be in a special room downstairs waiting for our turn to sing.  After our songs we will exit from the stage and go back to the same room where you dropped off.  PLEASE PICK UP YOUR CHILD AFTER KINDERGARTEN IS FINISHED SINGING.

Our class will be having their Christmas party on Wednesday, December 17th.    I have placed a sign up sheet out for party goodies.  Thank you for being so generous!!!  You are fantastic parents!!   We will need juice, Christmas cookies to decorate and frosting.   Sign ups are on the counter.

If possible, please send in $3.00 and baby ointment to help with Christmas Homeless Hospitality, which is hosted by the Parish and School and is held in our gym during Christmas break.  Thank you.

Peace be with you as we wait for the coming of our Lord.  It will be a busy time filled with joy, hope, peace, prayer and anticipation.
