School Philosophy

St. Paul Parish School is a special community of believers in the teachings of Jesus Christ as embodied in the doctrine and tradition of the Catholic Church.  Guided by the message of Christ's life, death, and resurrection, we emphasize personal responsibility and community service.  Our instructional program seeks to educate the whole person by nurturing the students' spiritual, academic, physical, and social development.

We believe a Christian education in the Catholic tradition is best realized in an environment in which faith and knowledge meet.  Our staff seeks to increase knowledge of the faith, to give knowledge a faith-filled context, and to challenge our students to live their faith through active participation in a Christian community and living a life of service.

We believe in maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence and encouraging family involvement in the educational process.  St. Paul Parish School offers a challenging academic program which emphasizes the mastery of basic skills and the extension of those skills toward independent learning, problem solving, and decision-making.  Teachers and administrators work closely with students and parents to provide a safe and nurturing Catholic Christian educational environment and to lay the foundation for life-long learning.

We believe that good health is vital to learning and proper development.  We provide ample opportunities for physical activity and promote the health of the whole person.  We work to create an environment which is characterized by cooperation, respect, and responsibility.

We believe in assisting all students to understand that we live in an interdependent world full of abundant examples of God's blessings.  All of God's creation is a gift and must be treated with the utmost respect. We are called to be good stewards of the earth and to protect life in all its forms.  We are especially challenged to respect and care for human life and to imitate Jesus, .living lives of love, for and service to, our brothers and sisters.

We believe that the spiritual, academic, physical, and social growth of students is maximized when home and school are partners.  Parents share in the responsibility of teaching Christian values, supporting academic development, and stimulating the creative abilities of their children.  We ask parents to take an active role in support of school policies, classroom activities, religious functions, sports programs, and the Family Participation Program.
